A race of bipedal animals of either mammalian or avian design whos bodies were designed by the Elestians for life on the planet Posea. The first generation of Poseans were given souls from those who had died tragically. This process, as seen here on page 71, involved ferrying the soul to a location managed by the Elestians where they could select a body from a line up of several others. Pods were somehow used to connect the soul to this body in the physical world, as well as adjust other changes of the body (such as slight behavioral modifications, and potentially blindness/deafness?).
The first generation of Poseans can be split into three distinct categories based on their height/body-type: long-necks, mid-size, and stumpy (these names are not official).
Long-necked Poseans (like Ka, Lopa, Runia, Dant, etc) are the tallest among the Poseans, and like their temporary name implies they posses longer necks than others. Typically their fur is quite short with monotone or warm-tone colors (with occasional blue-tones) often with intricate patterns, and also have colorful or multi-hued eyes.
Mid-size Poseans (like Vermily, Pollon, etc) vary in size, but have standard necks and aren’t quite as stumpy, which sets them apart from the other two categories. Their appearances usually resemble typical animals we readers might be more familiar with with fur colors and patterns to match.
Stumpy Poseans (like Moi, Webbings, Shivo, etc) are often very short, plump, and very fluffy. Typically their fur colors are darker ranging in the blues/purples or other cool colors with some amount of patterning but nothing quite as elaborate as the long-necks. Additionally, stumpy Poseans seem to all possess horns, claws, pronounced fangs, or other defensive growths.
Generations after the first combine elements of both parents’ designs without hybridization, and have their own, newly generated souls (unlike the first generation). Further details on the generations after the first will likely be explored in later chapters.
