Chapter 2 Summary

1 Mirley runs through the city and steals fruit.
2 Mirley is gifted better fruit and meets Mix.
3 Mirley meets troop of homeless kids but leaves.
4 She walks until night, asks for directions to a train station.
5 She spends the night under a guardian-resembling structure.
6 Turik, Ferlix and Pars return from a trip from the south and find Mirley.
7 Mirley (“Brin”) meets Pars and has a vision of them in water and nature.
8 A government worker sets up a missing poster with her info.
9 Family goes home, Cleon opens.
10 After an adventure, Benrod visits with Apia, he gifts Para an anchor.
11 They eat, discuss politics & the absence of elestians. Mirley stays in Pars’ room
12 Benrod tells of his adventures at sea, which relate to the Delsur vs DART war.
13 During his adventures he gets stuck in ecliptic tides near the world border
14 He falls of the ship and witnesses a crack in the border open slightly.
15 He is rescued by Birdspeakers from the DART.
16 Turik wants Para to inherit the candle shop. Brin drops glass, Cleon is cool.
17 Brin & Pars read about princess Topi from Ika and her fight against king Mungot.
18 Topi, whose parents left, is defeated and they plan to execute her.
19 Brin has dreams of a desert and a hornless elestian.
20 Ferlix & Brin go to find her house, they fail.
21 Jangal gifts Cleon a dartist book, they kiss.
22 Timelapse. Cleon reads. They fail to find her home, etc.
23 Ferlix has Pars try to find the truth about Brin.
24 Brin & Pars play, he tells about dead sister.
25 Brin comes out as Mirley. Her religious (dantian) mom died.
26 Her stepdad was sometimes neglectful violent.
27 She escaped. Pars promises to keep her secret.
28 Jangal returns beaten up. Turik helps her. It’s shown Cleon protested with her.
29 Pars and Brin get ready to destroy her missing poster. Pars has 2nd thoughts.
30 Mirley gets a fork in the road.
31 Pars on a scooter decides to go with her.
32 They find the poster, break glass and take it while being chased.
33 They hide in a night club and destroy the poster.
34 Ben rejoins military. Apia finds a missing poster made by stepdad.
35 They show the poster to ferlix. Pars lies to protect Mirley
36 Mix knocks and invites Mirley to join them if something happens.
37 Family at beach during night. Pars encourages Mirley to tell truth to Ferlix.
38 Mirley tells the truth to her while Turik is away.
39 Ferlix tells Turik, they decide to give her back to her stepdad.
40 Apia finds stepdad, they go on train. An explosion is heard
41 Train derails, a march starts, Turik gets a letter.
42 In death letter, Benrod admits being a dartist who died in a bombing.
43 Dad breaks elestian figurine, protests outside.
44 DART forces enter the city. Cleon decides to warn family.
45 Apia and Jobe arrive. They prepare to give Mirley to him, she is afraid.
46 Mirley goes to the bathroom. Jobe impatient.
47 Jobe starts charging against door. Turik threatens him with sword.
48 Jobe attacks with chair, Turik with sword. Jobe knocks Turik out.
49 Jobe discovers Mirley escaped, she goes down a rope dropped by Pars.
50 Pars and Mirley say bye, birds help Mirley get down.
51 She escaped amidst crowd, Jobe collapses from wounds.
52 Cleon and Jangal arrive at home, tell Turik about the DART, they decide to leave the city with Apia.
53 At the city border, Cleon decides to stay with Jangal, he gets the keys to house and candle shop.
54 Mirley joins crew of homeless kids and gets a “When” poncho.
55 Mungot fails to use somnicore, gets ready to kill Topi but changes his mind when it answers.
